Sailing it is a challenging field, but it can be risky if you do not pay attention. While sailing, you have amazing sensations and you also feel very free. You might be very excited about it, but do not hurry and think it over. Waters and weather are unpredictable, so you need to fight for your safety if something happens. Before going sailing, there are important things you should do and check: inform about the weather and about waves condition. If they are too powerful, you might have severe sailing troubles, so preventing it is the wisest things you should do. These rules are not addressed only to beginners, they are always necessary when sailing. 

Or you might be inexperienced or you might forget something that will be very important, so do not underestimate these rules mainly when there are many people in the boat and you are responsible for their lives. For an experienced sailor, these safe rules might be a routine, but not for you, so do not forget! Before sailing, you should tell someone you will be sailing and also the area. In case an accident happens, they will know where to look for you. Gear and the special clothing are also important things you and the crew should take with you. Then, check the oil and fuel levels, check if the drain plug it is in its place and also prepare the fenders.

While sailing, it is important to check the engine and smell near the cabin to see if there are fumes, look for the first-aid kit, check if there are any leaks, check the crew equipment and open the seacock for water intake. Do not forget to put aside all the personal items or the equipment and talk with people who are on the boat about emergency circumstances and what they should do. It is crucial to test the electronics as the radar and assign which are the roles of your crew in case of an emergency situation. Everything has to be very well established and organized to make sure you and  crew will be able to confront with an unexpected situation.
